The Nintendo Switch 2 has finally been announced!

The Nintendo Switch 2 has been officially announced!

Nintendo has officially announced the Nintendo Switch 2 through its official YouTube account, through a promotional video of less than three minutes. The ad, presented in the company’s signature style, begins by showing off the original Nintendo Switch and, through a cute animation, reveals how it transforms into the Switch 2. This video confirms the hardware improvements that had previously been leaked, but have now been made official.

Improved Design: The Nintendo Switch 2 maintains a similar appearance to the original Switch, although it is noticeably larger. It now includes two USB-C ports, one on the back and one on the bottom, and instead of the traditional stand of the first Switch, it adopts an adjustable tilt stand, similar to that of the Nintendo Switch OLED.

New Joy-Cons: The Switch 2’s Joy-Cons have been redesigned, with a larger size and a magnetic and mechanical attachment system. This change suggests that the classic Joy-Cons of the original Switch will not be backwards compatible with the Switch 2, which could represent an inconvenience for some users. Although this has not yet been confirmed, it is understood that the change in design and size could make compatibility difficult. Nintendo has yet to clarify if there will be any workarounds for gamers who wish to continue using their original Joy-Cons, but it would be ideal if a PlayStation-like option was implemented, which allows PS4 users to use their controllers on the PS5 for certain games.

Backward compatibility with games: One of the most outstanding features of the Nintendo Switch 2 is its backward compatibility with the games of the original Switch, which is always well received by users. However, Nintendo has mentioned that not all titles will be supported. It remains to be seen which games will be left out, although it is expected that they will be few.

Conclusion

The Nintendo Switch 2 promises to be an interesting evolution of the original console, maintaining its essence while introducing significant improvements in design and hardware. From Gamer Feels, we are waiting to see what else Nintendo has in store for us with this release scheduled for 2025.
