Yesterday, the Xbox Developer Direct 2025 took place, offering a preview of the upcoming video games coming to Xbox. Let’s see what new games were announced for the Xbox brand.
Ninja Gaiden 4: “Ninja Gaiden 4” has been announced after more than a decade of waiting, developed in collaboration by Team Ninja and PlatinumGames. In this game, there is a new protagonist, Yakumo, but there is also a returning one, Ryu Hayabusa. The game’s plot takes place in a Tokyo affected by demons, making the game totally fresh and exciting for players to experience. The game is scheduled to launch in Fall 2025 for PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass on day one.
Ninja Gaiden 2 Black: As a counterpart, “Ninja Gaiden 2 Black” was released, the enhanced version of the 2008 classic. Likewise, this definitive edition returns to the accentuation and violence of the saga again, themes that have already been softened in previous versions, using the new Unreal Engine 5 engine. We already have the game on Xbox Series X|S, PC and Xbox Game Pass.
South of Midnight: Compulsion Games has revealed new details about South of Midnight, an adventure set in a southern gothic world, featuring a protagonist, Hazel “Weaver” who uses her powers to confront monstrosities and save her mother, accompanied by a stop-motion art style, launching April 8.
Clair Obscur Expedition 33: Sandfall Interactive’s new game is a turn-based RPG that features a real-time reaction system for its turn-based game mechanics, which give combat more intensity and dynamism. The title will be released on April 24, 2025 for Xbox Series X|S and PC.
Doom The Dark Ages: Id Software announced “Doom: The Dark Ages”, a prequel set in a medieval fantasy realm prior to the events of “Doom” (2016) and “Doom Eternal”. The new video game places special emphasis on melee combat thanks to the inclusion of weapons such as a spiked mace or an iron flail. The specific release date is May 15, 2025 for PS5, Xbox and PC.
